Hey Folks,

Quick tutorial on how to burn ANY dvd to your computer Using Replay Converter, and a little program called DVD43

DVD43 is a free DVD decrypter that runs in the background and decrypts DVDs on the fly. This website gives you some basic information, like what it does, how to use it, and where to download it. If your copy program needs a decrypter, you can use DVD43. It's free, so you won't need to waste money on a decrypter.

All you do, is install DVD43 from here (it's a 100% free download): http://www.dvd43.com/

Install Replay Converter from here: http://www.applian.com/replay-converter

Now here's what you do:

#1. Pop the dvd into your PC's dvd drive. DVD43 automatically detects the dvd in your drive, you do not have to do ANYTHING, as it's in your taskbar and works automatically. With dvd43 enabled, you can now convert it to a pc compatible format using Replay Converter and not have to worry about the encryption.

#2. Open Replay Converter, make sure you CHANGE the 'save to' destination as you want to save the copy to your hard drive.

#3. Usually, the movie file is the largest VOB file on the disk. In this case, there are multiple VOB file's of this size so I'm picking the 1st one only as an example. This particular DVD however had the R version, and the Un-Rated Version on it...so choosing all 5 files will give me good copy of both, and I can pick and choose later which I want to keep. (The only downside is, in larger movies the file has to be saved in 2 parts, BUT it's dvd quality on your computer, and you can use WM Recorder to Combine the files together if needed)

#4. Using your mouse, drag the file or multiple FILES from the dvd drive into Replay Converter, select the format to convert to, and hit "Convert".

(Ignore that it says failed, I tried to convert it the first time WITHOUT changing the 'save to' location, and the conversion failed as I was trying to write back to the DVD itself. d'oh!

#5. Replay Converter starts converting to the folder you selected, in this particular example, the ENTIRE dvd was copied to my hard drive in about 20 minutes flat.

#6. You might want to get a bigger hard-drive, you'd be surprised how quickly your disk can fill up with all this media you're "acquiring". :-)

#7. Enjoy!

P.S. I wrote this whole tutorial as I was doing the actual conversion, just took 5-6 minutes from start to finish to convert/save the 1st half of the dvd to my C drive. Overal, you can convert an entire dvd in 10-20 minutes generally.
