Call of Duty 4 is my new online game crack. It was BF2 for 2 years strong as nothing else came out that could hold a candle to the fun of BF2. There was just so much to do.

Now Call of Duty 4 came out (and I've loved every call of duty (except 3...of course, it was a different developer not infinity ward) and it's just incredible. The single player game was one of the best ever all though it was pretty short. But the multiplayer is probably the best multiplayer FPS experience ever. No matter what game mode you pick the action is always fast paced. The graphics are incredible so they just keep you sucked in and then of course the weapons, special efffects and sounds are all spot on wonderful.

The big thing about the multiplayer is all the challenges and the perks/unlocks. Perks enhance your abilities and of course unlocks give you more weapons and modifications for your weapons. The ability to mix and match weapons and perks into your own custom classes is just incredible. But they limit certain things for balance. For instance, you can fit your weapon with a grenade launcher or a red dot site, but not both. Each perk fits into one of three categories so you can only pick one perk from each. For instance, if you want the stopping power perk (which increases your weapons damage) you can't us the juggernaut perk (which gives you more health). There's about 8 perks in each category. And yes the challenges are crazy from needing to get a certain number of headshots with a weapon, to needing to kill 2 guys while you're in midair to killing an enemy by holding on a grenade so long it blows you and the enemy up.

And of course, complete all the challenges on each weapon in a weapon category and you unlock the golden weapon of that category. In assault rifles it's the golden AK. And since the AK is my favorite weapon I'm trying to get that. Of course, that means I have to get 150 headshots with each of the 7 or 8 assault rifles. I've completed 2 so far...but at least I'm gettin better at headshots now so hopefully the rest come faster. The golden weapons aren't actually better than the regular, they just look awesome and say that you're a bad a$$.

If anyone else plays this check me out on xfire. xfire name same as forum name.

Heya Ohbeone, thanks for joining the forum and making a few posts!

While I have not yet beat cod4 (too many games to play, haha) i've got to agree it's am AMAZINGLY addictive game, both the offline AND online play are great, and i'd recomend it to ANYBODY with a ps3, xbox360 or compatible gaming computer.

Good game, I approve 100% :-)

(And, if anybody is interested, you can record your ONLINE game play for this or ANY game (on your pc) using Replay Screencast) which pretty much lets you make screen capture videos and record what-ever you see on your screen.

Nice topic, great game!

Actually, I have just been told that x-fire is allowing you to record games now with their new beta-version, it's 100% free too and there is no time limit! So yeah, screencast is great for other recording, but you can't beat free if you're looking to record games on your pc!
